So because I'm loving my new DG glasses I have been thinking a lot about different way to wear my eye make-up with my DG glasses. When I came across this video I knew I had to share. I also love her glasses so they may be my next edition to my collection!

What challenges do you guys find with wearing glasses and makeup? Being a new glasses wearer I noticed I needed to apply a setting powders like MAC blot on the bridge of my nose to keep the foundation off my glasses.

I also wear the DG foundation in the Natural Glow 100. This foundation does not come off easily. I can talk on my iphone and it doesn't get all over the screen which is amazing!
If you like a more natural coverage I apply it with a large powder brush not a synthetics foundation brush. This create a more airbrushed finish and uses less product.

I also like how she added a pop of color with the gold.

Over ther years Ive had some great Valentines days and so pretty boring ones. Some of the best were with my girlfriend, having drinks or even just staying in and watching sappy chic flicks.

I never thought of eyeglasses as a major fashion accessory until I had to pick out a pair for myself. Post baby it seems my eyesight is not what it used to be. I was dreading it and put it off as long as I could. Until my friend sent me a text message with a picture of these glasses.. (Yes I picked my eye doctors for the glasses! ) It was worth the uncomfortable air they blow in your eyes and those horrible drops, I love my new Dolce and Gabbana glasses! I must get 4 compliments a day. The fact that its real lace inside them only makes me feel more fashionable!
They also come in the sunglass variety.

UPDATE: Just found out the Dr's office has its own twitter! Ive been in a few times since I first picked out my glasses and everytime its difficult not to get another pair with the great selection they have! The office staff ( and of corse Dr Gould) are so fun and friendly that they make going to the eye Dr's an enjoyable experiance! I highly recomend them if you live in the Miami area.

Seeing Red! Christian Louboutin visits Saks Bal Harbour

What's more stimulating than a Cuban coffee in the morning?? A French shoe designer! Christian Louboutin's personal appearance in Saks Bal Harbour Monday Feb 6th, was an event not to be missed. For me the best part of the day however, was only for the associates, managers and other team CL members at the stores morning meeting. Mr. Louboutin was greeted by cheers from the entire store, all who were lined up in the shoe department to welcome him. He began introducing his 20th anniversary collection, The Capsule Collection.

Like a parent telling stories of their children, he proudly began telling us about his inspirations for the original shoe designs which helped build the foundation for his fashion empire. These popular designs were all embelished to create his 20th anniversary collection that was being seen for the first time that day.

He selected his Pensee shoe, and like a proud father began describing its "birth". He began a beautiful story of how when he first sketched this shoe it just didn't look right when completed. He went back to his sketch where he had colored the sole red. He later saw a woman painting her nails a warm vibrant red and chose that color for the first soles. He originally planned to changed the sole color every season but a woman returning to his boutique told him how much she loved the red soles and how sexy and feminine it made her feel... the rest is history!

His next selection was the beautiful "Bow Bow Bow" shoe. He joked that it should have been called "Bow bow bow bow bow", because of the five bows. He described an afternoon with his sister when a butterfly landed on her foot. This was his inspiration for this shoe and the reason why only the bows have color and all other straps are transparent. This allows the bows to "float" on the foot.

The shoe story that is something Ill always remember is the shoes that were inspired by Princess Diana. He said he saw her at an event staring down at her shoes. His thought was "I wish she at least had something pretty to look at".

He then selected the Tina boot which has layers of black fringe that when given movement resembles Tina Turners wild hair during a performance.

One of the more simple (in comparison to the other wilder styles) and very intricate shoes was a flat sandal called the Copt. The Copts were early Egyptian Christians. They made beautiful ornate crosses, sometimes braiding them out of leather or metal. This is the inspiration for this beautiful sandal which is one of my favorites in the collection.

He went on about the CNN boot ( incase any field reporter needed to look good out in the field and still have a place for all her things) and answered a few questions from the awestruck audience.

There are many more amazing shoes in this collection ( not avalible in many stores until at least March)

The event was an enormous success and the clients walking away with their beautifully decorated red soles were full of smiles and excited to show off their personalized masterpieces.

The signatures were not a scribble in basic black ink..Mr. Louboutin is much more of an artist that that. He personalized each shoe, adding pops of bright colors to their names and even adding the occasional endearing greeting.

Each shoe has an inspiration and in some cases a beautiful story of the moment that inspired his creation. He is a true artist with so much passion for what he does and its evident in the wearable masterpieces he is famous for. Truly an amazing experience!

Dolce and Gabbana eyeshadow quads! Just a few of my favorites!

DG #2 eyeliner: My old faithful. A warm brown with small flecks of gold shimmer. You don’t see the glitter so much once it’s on, but it just gives you a little pop for the days when you have little time to do your make-up.

MAC fluid line macroviolet- I love liquid liners but for a thicker line I love this cream liner.

MAC Paintpot in Painterly: Can’t live without this amazing eye shadow base. You need very little but it holds the shadow all day.

Mascaras....As you can see from my picture I have between 5-10 mascaras Im using at any given time. The only thing I hoard worse is nail polish! Natural Flirty Look- Dolce and Gabbana Secret Eyes ( defines every lash but doesnt make them stick together) Dramatic- Dior Show Blackout ( Thick and heavy drama ) With a stong lip- MAC Haute and Naughty ( I use the small brush first to seperate and the big one to add thickness) With a Strong eye- Armani Eyes to kill ( gets every little lashes and adds volume)

So I'm getting tons of questions about my wedding from all the post I put on various wedding bogs. I know how frustrating it was to not be able to find anything about the place I was having my wedding so I thought I would post on here some pictures I found helpful and all the details I keep getting asked about. Sunset Beach Resort Montego Bay Jamaica 11-11-11 For a destination wedding you need to not try and control everything! I'm very type A so that was so hard for me but I had to just let go and understand island time is very different. So to go with the flow....and be patient! I had emailed Natalie in Jan and had great communication to lock in my date but towards the end my emails were going unanswered. I called and found out I had an old email for her. I suggest calling and BE NICE! She's very sweet in person and is your lifeline to your wedding. The Lobby

When I arrived I left hubby by the pool and went with a bridesmaid to meet with her. She played a cute joke on me telling me that Natalie had left for the day. When I reacted calm she laughed. I think she was testing me to see if I was a bridezilla :) Everything was planned out in less than an hour and she showed us the beach where we'd be getting married. I love that it had a big tree so it had some shade for our guest while they waited. I showed her my decorations that I had made and gave her a seating chart of where I Wanted all the place card. I suggest bringing pictures because you will not be able to be there setting up. Leave the pictures with her and it will be perfect....and if its not you wont even notice! It was nice to be able to spend the day of my wedding relaxing at the pool with my friends! ..

Getting ready My Headpiece was from Etsy's store SquarePegMeg. I love so much of her things and she even sent me a cute little thank you card! It was super affordable and i still wear it.

Everything went great and the reverend was hysterical! I swear our vows were right out of a reggae song! The beach was perfect for pictures!

We had our party at the Beach Inn. Its the most beautiful place on the resort. Open on three sides and so pretty.

We live in Miami and my husband is a very good DJ so we didn't have to pay the crazy $300 an hour for the resorts DJ. We did rent the sound system. I am also a make-up artist so I did my own make-up and had my nails done with the shellac before we left.

We did the private meal and added the $17 per person for the open bar but warning the drink were watered down like everywhere on the resort. The food was so much better than we expected and even the guest commented on how good it was. For our cake I did a two tier and stressed that it had to be chocolate because of other peoples post on how it was vanilla always. I brought all the decorations you see and made all of them myself :) The cake topper is my grandparents from the 1940's!!

I really recommend going to eat outside of the resort at the Montego bay Yacht club. Is a block away and a safe walk. The food was amazing and very very affordable! We got there a few days before which was good because it gave us time to relax. We had a blast with the kids in the water park and even took advantage of the free daycare. The kids loved the day care and had a great time with the teachers making crafts etc. I strongly suggest tipping them (even $5) because they really do play with the kids. We had a unofficially rehearsal dinner in the Chinese restaurant because it was the only one that could fit us all. I suggest making the reservations the day you arrive! Italian is the best so shoot for that but it fills up fast! The Caribbean was a definite skip unless your there long enough and Id still suggest trying to sneak into Italian again :) Please post any questions below :) It seems like a lot of people are asking the same questions so this way we can all help each other :) Maygan

Foundation/Face Drawer

Here it is! The breakdown of some of my favorite make-up products for the face. MAC moisture Cover Concealer: This lightweight moisturizing concealer is great for the morning after a good nights sleep. It’s less coverage than the DG one and has tons of moisture so it never looks dry. I apply it with a brush meant for blending eye shadow for a natural airbrushed finish.

DG concealer in #3: This is for the mornings that come too early. This concealer contains brightening pigments in addition to the coverage of a good concealer. A lot of people think it’s a copy of the YSL touch Éclat…not even close. YSL’s TE is meant to be a highlighter…not a concealer. I know many people use it for one and that’s great if it works for you but if you need more coverage this is an amazing product to try. I add some Touché Éclat to the inside of my eye still sometimes but the coverage (and how natural it looks) can’t be beat!

MAC Strada Blush: Again this blush I mentioned a few post back. Don’t judge this blush by what it looks like in the package. Ask a MAC artist to try it on and you won’t be sorry. This works best for fair skin. It also is great when you have a stronger eye look and want minimal blush.

Armani Face Fabric blush: Get that childlike blushing effect with this silicone based cream blush. I love the pale pink one and the tube I bought has lasted me over a year! I use it under other blushes if I need a longer lasting blush or want a stronger blush look.

Trish Beauty Booster primer: I’ve never been a big fan of primer. I always felt like if you were using good skincare you didn’t need a primer. I was given a sample of this product from Trish and I loved it! It has sun protection and helped give my skin a nice glow even before applying anything over it. It also helped with large pores.

MAC Mineralized powder: A great easy easy product for my days off when I just want to have a little more polished look. I also have a special edition on that MAC made with Alexander McQueen. I probably should have been saving it but its the best shimmer highlighter Ive ever used, so I treat it like its real gold!

Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder: a great setting powder for concealer for those days when even the heaviest concealer won’t cover it all.

Laura Mercier under Eye Corrector: This is product goes in my emergency product file! Maybe you rewatched the notebook and cried through a box of tissues or spent the night dancing till dawn…if this doesn’t help dark circles nothing will. It uses color theory with a pink or orange corrector to cancel out the blue/ purple of the dark circle. I use very little (after a strong eye cream and a big cup of coffee!) and let it sit before I apply the Dolce and Gabbana concealer. Finish this off with the secret brightening powder and you should be good to go  The pink is for my blue gray under eye circles and the orange is for more red/gray under eye circles.

If you’re like me you love when other bloggers post pictures of what’s in their purse or what’s in their make-up stashes! I can’t believe that I didn’t think to post the same thing for myself. I like to think I’m super organized but it’s defiantly work to put everything back when I’m rushing to work. If you don’t know my past, I worked for MAC for many many years. When you’re an artist with them you receive a very generous amount of makeup each year, in addition to a few products from each new collection. I have not been with MAC for almost three years now so my supply has dwindled but there are still products I am constantly rebuying. This is in my bathroom and is just what I wear on a monthly basis and mostly for work. I have two other make-up kits (one bridal one dramatic) that I keep in a less busy area of my house. (I learned the hard way that my three year old doesn’t know the difference between MAC glitter pigments and school glitter) For tomorrows post Ill pick a few of my favorite products and explains why they are essentials! Feb 6th will be known as red bottom day at Bal Harbour! Two years ago when we first held this event over 1,000 women waited in line for up to five hours to have their red soles signed by the master himself! I know from "tweeting" with a lot of my friends that's because you don't live here in Miami or won't be in town that weekend you'll miss this once in a lifetime chance... Not exactly.

I spoke with the manager of shoes and there will be a option to purchase shoes and have them signed without even being in the store!!! We can hold them until your able to get here or ship them also!

The challenge is this... Sizes sell out in a day sometimes for the more basic styles! If there's a style you know you want I need to know ASAP. Please email me for any more details.
There's also going to be special very high end shoes brought in for the event. These shoes will have never been seen before the event

Nails have been the hottest trend over the past two years and now the brands are all trying to think "What can we do that will be different"

Like with Lips there were two clear trends.

Happy Nude Year
Gone are the wild colors of 2011...nude is in. Moving in the opposite direction with the focus on more wearable shades of soft pinks and beige. There are the occasional odd ball pop of funkiness like the Dior Collection in my previous post, but most of the looks were neutral with the occasional opposite manicure.

Spring is right around the corner and the looks this year are so different from most years that it’s a great time to get a jump on things. Usually spring is all pale and natural looks, a sharp turn from winters bold lips and smoky eyes. This year the Fashion Gods have thrown something different our way with the following trends…

“Red They Said”

Red, red and more shades of red. Yes, this winter classic is hanging around for a few more months. Think of this as groundhogs day with no shadow…four more weeks of red lips!

This lip however was paired with a very natural eye. The liner on the top is sometimes done UNDER the lashes (known as a French line) this and very natural mascara (like MAC X mascara) leaves all the focus on the bold almost Pop art like lip.

How do you differentiate a holiday red lip from a spring red…?

**Tip ** the lip liner needs to be in the same family. A blue red liner will change the look and may not match the lipstick shade.

Now I know red lips are not everyone’s cup of tea so thankfully there’s a second trend that I have a feeling will be much more popular. If you look at the fall shows (Paris in particular) the colors were a very washed out metallic and pastel palette.

“Ice Queen with a warm heart”

Okay maybe I’m being a little too cheesy but this metallic look lacks the harsh feeling of season past. The pairing of the metallic eyes with a soft sheer glossy lip brings innocence to my favorite spring trend.

For the eyes MAC’s Metal X shades are an easy way to achieve the finish seen on the runways. It’s a creamy shadow that’s very long lasting. It comes in nine different shades so there’s plenty to play with. I suggest starting with a lighter shade.

For the lips less is more. The lip needs to be very sheer. The YSL Sheer Candy collection is great for this and also Dolce and Gabbana #10 Passion Duo.
If you use a gloss just make sure it doesn’t have any glitter. The look is wet and glossy not sparkly for the lips, leave that for the eyes.

This has been my favorite lip-look for the past few weeks! Dolce and Gabbana#20 Passion Duo (the same one used on the DG runway) and the old standby of MAC Clear lipglass over it.

Fake that Summer glow!

Spring is here and were all feeling a little drab. I thought Id share an easy way to fake that summer glow.

The easiest (and the safest for your skin) way to fake a summer tan is with a few basic beauty products!

Armani Fluid Sheer- a great was to add radiance to your foundation. Pick a shade a little more bronze that your natural tone. If you’re dry you can add right to your foundation and apply all over. If you’re oily however I suggest applying after foundation in a very light application just on the outer part of your face and on the cheeks. My favorite brush for this is actually a blush brush. It give a more airbrushed finish, just make sure you wash it well after.

YSL Touché Éclat is another great highlighter. I know many people use this as a concealer but the true purpose is an illuminator. Used above the brows it gives a great highlight and defines the brows. You can even apply some on the tops of the cheek bones.

MAC Strada Blush- This color is so much more than what it looks like in the container. I often don’t show it to people when I’m applying it until they've seen it on themselves. It looks very very brown on the package but on fair skin it’s the most amazing color for contour or as a blush. To use it as a blush you wouldn’t use the bronzer and the fluid sheer.

So I have a confession! I've been cheating on my make-up obsession with another vice...The Hunger Games books! I remember hearing about these books a year ago and not giving them much thought. They were explained to me as books about a girl in a post-apocalyptic world controlled by the government. At first it sounded like a modern 1984 and in many ways it was the same principles of “Big Brother is always watching…

Sounds boring right… NO!

The hero of the trilogy Katniss is chosen as a contestant in the annual fight to the death Hunger Games.” I bought the book one night while doing my Christmas shopping at Target. I started it at 10pm and didn’t put it down until well after 3am! No amount of concealer could help me that day but it was well worth it. I put off reading the second book until I knew I had plenty of time and again…read it all in one sitting.

Being beauty obsessed of cores I picture what her hair and make-up will look like in the upcoming movies. Throughout the book she wears her hair in a classic simple braid. She is also very anti makeup except for when the team of stylist makes her over with crazy sounding make-up.

So my friend let it slip that she's a closet bowling fan! This is from the girl who owns a pair of cool nike's in every neon color imaginable! Her birthday was this week and in true Miami style we are celebrating all week long! I wanted to do something other than the basic go out to a club routine. So I found a bowling alley that in the review someone mentioned that it reminded them of one in south Boston ( where the birthday girl is from)

My dilemma comes to this... What do you wear to a bowling alley?

The entire Dior Fashion house has joined with German Pop artist Anselm Reyle for a one time collection. This may be one of the wildest collections yet from Dior. Purple, Lime green and military grey are splashed across shoes, bags and even brought to the cosmetics!

Five limited edition nail colors and one amazing eye palette are one of the hottest collections in Saks right now. It is however only available in certain Saks locations. Expected to sell out in days this is not something to wait for.

Shimmery dark and light grays, a matte black and a warm toned purple, all in a beautiful silver compact. The mirror even features the classic Dior print...with a twist that Mr. Reyes has added to the collection. The traditional Dior check is placed at an angle. In the winter chill that has descended on Miami (okay it's 50' but that's cold for us!) the lack of humidity was making my skin feel dull. My normal to oily skin prevents me from wearing a lot of the things that are a quick fix for this.
For dryer skin Armani Fluid sheer is a great way to get back that glow. A few pumps added either to your foundation or applied over it will give radiance to any completion. I even use it as blush on some clients who like a more natural look.

If your combination like I am though, this may have too much shine. I found a great alternative although it is a limited edition so don't fall in love too much!

YSL has come out with what I'm calling a blush enhancer. It's too sheer to be worn alone but over or above a blush it gives that glossy finish.

It's not meant to give a lot of color. I added it on top of my cheek bone to create a dewy look that I can control where it stays.

Applied over a light blush( tweed pink. From Chanel) it's the perfect look for winter.

When my coworkers went wild over these Jimmy Choos wedges I thought they were crazy. I’m a girlie girl but glitter shoes to me are for the under 13 crowd. So when we were in Key West for my bachelorette party and had no shoes to wear, borrowing from a friend was my only option....and I loved them. They are fun and very flashy yes I know but there’s something about wearing shoe bling that made me feel like a teenager again.

Not being able to go back in time and buy them when they were on sale at Saks ( still over $300) I gave up on my quest for shoe bling.

Until I saw these on a girl at a sorority holiday party. They look just like the JC's so you can imagine how shocked I was that she said "They’re from Payless!!"

I had some time to kill and stopped into one and I’m in love. So comfy and they dress up any outfit. So excited for my new purchase!

So I finally got more pictures back from my wedding. I did my own makeup and hair and I would have recorded it but the Wifi in Jamaica is not so great so I planned a step by step pictorial...And my camera didnt make it back from Jamaica...so Heres the pics I do have and I will break it down what I used.

I started my eyes with MAC paint pot in Painterly. A great basic if you have pink under tones.
Then I used Dolce and Gabbana Contrast Quad highlighter all over my lid. For my crease I used MAC Haux mixed with the dark plum from the DG quad. This color on its own doesn’t look like anything special. On the skin it’s a subtle blackberry shade. It’s a great crease for an elegant smoky eye. I started with a nude lip and then when the hair went up put on my classic vampy red lip but I made sure I blotted it so I wasn't leaving kiss marks on everyone!

- Prada Candy. Now the name Candy doesn’t mean that this is a sticky sweet, marshmallow like fragrance. It’s the name of the sexy woman on the box. The blond bombshell in the little black dress on the eye catching fuchsia box. This hot new scent contains notes of vanilla and caramel but the benzion makes it not too sweet.

Jimmy Choo- When this first came out I thought it looked a lot like Flower bomb…and apparently so didn’t the people and Victor and Rolfe because Jimmy Choo now has a new bottle. A mix of Orchids, Toffee and pear swirled with a hint of patchouli make this a very sexy sweet scent.

Gucci Guilty- When I first smelled this I went crazy for it! I love love this scent. The downside is I didn’t notice it on me after a few hours but I loved it so much I didn’t mind reapplying! Unique, fresh and yet still very very sexy! The men’s is delicious also! It was sold out for weeks after we received it. The sets for these two scents are a great deal also and some stores are even giving a Gucci Christmas ornament with any purchase!

Killian Back to Black – With the strong oils in Killian this will last all night (and maybe even the next day!) Honey and Tobacco create and intoxication blend. Its no wonder the second name for this is Aphrodisiac!

YSL - La Nuit de L`Homme Le Parfum- bergamot, pepper; lavender, with a hint of vanilla. I love showing this to men they always love it but not as much as their wives. The women sometimes even spray this on them selves.

When I ask guest in our store if they’ve experienced the new Dolce and Gabbana fragrances some brush me off thinking I’m about to show them one of the classics like Light Blue or Rose the One. All it takes is one sniff and they know this is a whole new world of fragrances for Dolce and Gabbana. I know there are many Light Blue fans out there (and who can blame them when David Gandy is on every five minutes promoting it!) but The Velvet Collection is a whole new level of sensorial experience.

This amazing collection is unlike anything else you've ever seen...or smelled :) First off they are much stronger in concentration than the existing DG fragrances. The presentation alone is also very impressive. Each comes in its own velvet box lined with black satin. The perfect vessel for the luxury of the fragrance. There are six in total but I thought I would just share my two favorites and the two that have been what everyone has loved.

The Velvet Sublime is the one the women are loving. Not too sweet, not too green it was designed to create the feeling of the orange groves of Sisley. The layering of the orange blossom with the neroli makes her a smooth sexy fragrance.

The Velvet Vetiver has been the other star of the collection. This was very clear when the first time I wore it a very handsome Italian man grabbed me and asked me what I was wearing! It’s defiantly a unisex fragrance. It’s a watery woody scent composed of Haitian Vetiver and Fig for a fresh just out of the shower scent. The inspiration was the Mediterranean summer and it makes me feel like I’m walking in a seaside town and craving a Proseco!

The other scents include Velvet Wood –soft and sexy, Velvet Patchouli –Sexy and dominate, Velvet Love –Pepper floral and Velvet Desire a mix of white floras’.

All in all this collection is spicing up the fragrance world.

DG makeup has out done its self! The winter colors are beautiful pale. My first thought was of the LV spring fashion show. They blend beautifully for a whimsical look. Finish with a bold plum lip for a more daring statement or keep it light and airy with a lavender gloss.

I know were not even in summer officially but the fall/winter runways have been walked and these are some of my fav looks for winter!

At Gucci dark burgundy lips again! DG Amethyst Lipstick and Chanel Vamp are going to be hot sellers! I see a MAC burgundy lip liner also. Make-Up by Pat McGrath and team :)

The eyes are very nude, like they used a MAC Brule shadow and just tons of thick mascara.

At Chloe the 70's were back with warm browns and a natural lip.

It was decade themed in Milan that week. This is a very 50's Mod look. Liquid liner was used in the natural crease and under the eye. The thing I love the most with this look is the nude eyeliner they used on the inside of the eye. You may have missed it at first glance but that’s why you’re reading my blog right ;) A lot of people use white liner but its way to noticeable Nude is the best option. It’s subtle but brightens the eyes and makes them look larger and brighter. Chanel and Dolce and Gabbana both make great ones.
On the cheeks they have used a tan blush to just give definition.

The mask doesn't dry hard on your skin although it does sink in and feel drier to the touch than it did in the jar. It says 10 mins but I sleep with it on. Shrinks the pore and gave me a glow. I’m hooked on this one!
Eye Cream: Again I have to go with Cellcosmet. I was working with a client a month ago and they (like me) were in search of a good eye cream for under eye circles. We had just gotten in Cellocosmet to Saks and we went over to talk with the line expert. I had already tried and fallen in love with the Anti Stress Mask so I thought it was worth seeing what else they had. After seeing the difference it made on the client in just 5 minutes I was sold. I took home a sample and bought one for myself and one to send to my mother the next morning. The trick. I went with the Men’s line one. It’s stronger than the women’s because Men’s skin is thicker but it worked amazing. No dark circles. They make another one for puffiness and an anti aging but I liked the quick fix of the dark circles one.
SPF: Clarins UV Plus SPF 40. Sunscreen is the most important part of your daily routine. If you’re not using a good sunscreen all the serums in the world won’t help your skin. I like the Clarins one because it’s a mineral filter so it doesn’t leave you white and pasty. (I'm white enough on my own)A great tip too is to apply extra product on the tops of your hands. You get a lot of sun on the tops of your hands while driving.

So my girls and I took our annual NYC girls weekend trip in March. It was a very very brisk 32' but we still had a great time. Here’s the photo recap!

The girls night out at the Hudson Bar. We picked this hotel because we heard the bar in it was the best....and we were not disappointed. The rooms are like being on a chic cruise ship they are sooo small but your hardly in them the rest of the hotel is so beautiful. When you pull up you can’t even tell it’s the hotel. You go up a lime green escalator to the most beautiful lobby.

We wanted to something kinda tourist like so we chose to do Madame Tussauds in Time Square. We had a lot of fun posing with the wax figures and even got a little silly with the Jerry Springer one! It didn’t take us long to go through the whole place. Maybe an hour at the most.

Of course we went to about 5 H&M and shopped till we dropped! We even made it to Top Shop in SoHo. (The only Top Shop in the US) From everyone I talked to the prices were way higher than in the UK. I was expecting it to be more like H&M's prices but it was double if not triple. Some of the shoes were over $150 and didn’t look that well made. I did love the earrings and necklaces. They had some amazing things.

Mexican Radio- a great Mexican place in SoHo! Great service and good food.
Room Service- Very busy and well known to the local’s Thai place in Hell Kitchen!
Magnolia Bakery- Red Velvets are a must have!
The Hudson Hotel- I don’t know if Id stay there again but it was nice to be VIP for the lounge which I hear gets very hard to get into at times.

Gone forever and so much happened! I got engagged, I bought a house and I was spending too much time working on my bff PR to help her win Miss Nicaragua 2011 and go on to Miss Universe!

So yes Ive been very busy. Well the house is all set, the pagent is over and was very politcal rigged and the wedding is 50% planned so back to my third love ( My fiance and baby being #1 and #2) talking about Make-up with you guys!

How we got engaged
After waiting eight years Maygan was getting a little impatient waiting for Andrew to pop the question. Christmas morning Andrew gave Maygan a small box that she knew was a ring box. However this ring box contained a ring from Target (still bearing the $20 price tag!) A week later (an many comments from Maygan’s friends to poor Andrew later) while on vacation in the Keys Andrew handed Maygan the same ring box. Thinking he was playing another joke Maygan didn’t take him serious until she noticed he had written "will you marry me in the sand" still not convinced she began asking him " Is this a sick joke?!?: It wasn’t until she noticed their friends Alyssa and Kyle were video tapping the whole thing that she realized this was the real thing (FINALLY!) Inside the same $20 target ring box was Maygan’s grandmother’s engagement ring.

So Ive been busy browsing all my favorite Beauty Blogs. I notice a lot of people talking about a cosmetics line Inglot. When I was in NYC last month with Dolce and Gabbana training some of the other artist were going crazy for this make-up they had just bought at a new store. They showed me these amazing little palettes that had the best colors.

I remembered this after I saw the Inglot web site. I didn't make it there while I was in NYC and now after looking at their web site Im kicking myself!

I have tons of make-up. (No really I have like plastic bins of makeup) What I went crazy for was the assortment of eyelashes! Every shape and size! They even have natural hair and synthetic hair ones, as well as feathers! I know Shu has some of the most popular lashes out there but these (if they were sold in more places) would be way more popular!

I just wanted to share a quick tip for this look. If you notice the how the lips look so full and glossy. One thing you might not notice is the highlight on the cupids bow of the top lip. Pat McGrath tip : use a nude or platinum eyeliner and using the side of the pencil add a little highlight to the top lip. Fun and very easy!!

Another quick little tip. By using a nude eyeliner (not a white or a silver) on the inside of the eye you will make the eyes look brights and larger. So easy ..

Im so excited to go these new colors in and as soon as I do I will post some tutorials of how to do this look.

This is a Pat trick we learned from Aaron Henrickson. She likes to apply a little bit of sheer shimmer gloss with her finger to the center of the lip. It really makes it pop.

I believe that the guy in the reflecting is DGMU VP of education Alan Ginsberg. Im waiting to hear back from him to confirm.

I love all the gold packaging of the DGMU products on the table...its a sea of little gems!

New MAC Collections

Okay so M.A.C. launched their new longwear collection today. At first I was expecting the typical dry and flakey lip color. This is anything but! They very creamy and even though the girls told me they dry down I didnt feel it. This could be the best thing from MAC in years! They have shine and staying power unlike anything else Ive ever seen!

I tried on the one called Love Forever. It is the longwear version of Snob for all my brazilians you are going to love this one! So i put a little studio tech on first to have a blank canvas. the I used Soar lipliner and then the love forever. This is a great base for under the Gaga lipglass that just came out. I am loving this new formula and I know you guys will too. I just wish they had done more common shades. Some are a little funky ( the purple is too wacky even for me) but this one in Love Forever is going to be a favorite of mine no doubt! Enjoy!

Fashion Week, My Favorite make-up- Tibi

Again I'm loving the brows for this show. They kept the eye shadow subtle and focused just on the thick mod eyeliner. The blush looks like a cream blush just applied to the apples and blended outward.

Eyes - Vanilla eyeshadow as a brow highlight. Tilt eyeshadow on the lid. Black liquid liner, thicker in the corners. I would probably use a eyeliner brush with MAC fluidline to get them even and then fill in with liquid liner Just a little mascra on the bottom.
Face- I would use a cream blush like M.A.C. sweet William just on the apples and blend it outwards.
Lips- Dolce and Gabbana Charm lipstick with their #6 pencil. Then a drop of their nude lipgloss in the center of the lip for shine.

I love the beautiful brows in this show. Theyre full but not too bushy. For the eyes they used a peachy warm highlight under the brows to add to the warmth of the whole look. The liner is around the entire eye and smoked a little in the outter corners. I like how they lef it kinda messy looking almost that I slept in my make-up look. The lips are almost a stain with tons of shine. Very fresh and girlie.

How to DIY
Brows- You could use MAC brow set in Beguille and brush the hairs outward for this look
Eyes- MAC Mylar as a brow highlight or even MAC Orb for a less frosted look. On the eye you would use a MAC #217 brush and apply MAC moons reflection to the lid with a white like MAC Gesso along the tear duct. The liner needs to be able to be smudged so you need a khol pencil like smolder. They lined under the top lid for more depth. The bottom liner is smudged with something small like a MAC #219 brush.
Lips -It almost looks like they used a skin toned nude eyeliner around the outside of the mouth. This is a great way to give definition without having a line. I would use M.A.C. Fanfare Cremesheen lipstick with lychee luxe over it.

I would apply this all over the lid. The best way to get it to stick would be to apply a concealer or MAC paintpot under it. If your feeling daring you could use a colored paintpot or lightly dust a blue green eyeshadow under this pigment. The pigment will pick up whatever colors are under it so go lightly!

Lipstick - Delicate from Dolce and Gabbana. Its light its fresh and it would compliment the teal.

Dark Lip trend breakdown

So I know everyone been showing pictures of dark dark lips as the trend for Fall. If your like me at all your first thought was "No way and I wearing that" It actually made me think back to when I first started working for MAC and they wanted me to wear Russian Red lipstick one day. I was horrified. I was a nude lip girl (Viva Glam 5 was pushing it for me!) So being a good sport I did it and by the end of the day I loved it and got so many compliments. I'm hoping the dark purple lip look will go the same way. My mission this week was to spread the trend throughout the store. I was able to talk a few people into trying it on and they all came back and said they loved it and received a lot of compliments all day. Here are some pics to prove it~!

The most important part of wearing a dark lip is how you apply it. A dark lipstick shows every little imperfection so its very important to follow these steps....

1. neutralize your lip area with a skin colored powder or foundation

2. Use the correct color lipliner and as neatly as possible line the lips

3. Apply the lipsticks with a lipbrush. It will go on much neater than using it right from the tube. You can also get a sharper edge.

4. I love this tip! I go around the outside of the lipliner with a nude eyeliner pencil. This makes my lips look bigger and creates a very clean edge around the lipstick.

This is with only the right side having the nude eyeliner around it. You can see how much more defined that side is

Dolce and Gabbana Fall Color Collection

So when I first saw this picture my first thought was "Oh no not another season of dark Gothic lipsticks!" I am already tired of dark nails and dark lips and its not even fall. How many years in a row will the dark Gothic look be in...I'm blaming it on Twilight and all the other vampire movies/shows!

Even Saks has ordered capes and trench coats in blacks and dark purples for fall and winter. Maybe its living in Miami that makes it so hard for me to adjust to the season that is supposed to be winter when its always 85' and sunny...

Anyways.. the fall collection was not something I was too excited about. That was until I went to NYC for my Dolce and Gabbana training. On the last day they brought in a artist named Aaron Henrickson. If your asking "Okay who the heck is that" your not alone. We all looked at each other like "are we supposed to know who that is??" Now pro make-up artist ( the ones who do tons of fashion shows and work fashion week) would probably want to kick me right now. Aaron, and his magical hands, works alongside none other than Make-Up Master Pat McGrath. ( If your saying "yah so" go back a few weeks and watch my Pat video before you read another word!)

This made a bolt of lightning go through the room. How cool. Okay because I am attached to my iphone ( yes I sleep with it) of course I googled him right away. .. Here was some of the cool things I found..

If your a fashion and make-up junkie like I am you know why I was start struck. So the next day I couldn't wait to meet him. We get to the room and I have to admit I was kinda nervous. You hear horror stories of Diva makeup artists etc... that was so not the case . He was so soft spoken and attentive it was inspiring. You cant even believe how excited I was when I got to be the model for the make-up demo. (I didn't talk for over an hour! a lifetime achievement!)

The look we were trying to recreate is similar to the picture at the top of Scarlet...with the dark lip. (To tell the truth he could have told me he was putting dirt on my face with a dirty shoe and I wouldn't have cared )

He explained everything and gave us some great little tricks! One I have to share was using a little gold eyeliner on top of the cupids bow of the mouth. It gave a subtle highlight against the dark color. After that I was sold on the dark lips! ( sometimes you just need a little refill of inspiration)

This week my goal is to do at least four makeup looks using this dark color. Wish me luck! I will post the pics as I get people to let me try it on them!

The overshadows used for this look were the DG Divine Quad. The lip color is Lust ( 3rd one in)

I'm going to redo the look when I have a camera and better lighting because the one I took of the makeup Aaron did on me came out so dark you cant see anything.

Now I know if you’re a tourist you have probably heard about Sawgrass. I have to admit its one of the biggest outlets malls I’ve ever seen (no really its three miles long) but if you want fashion ....you’re in the wrong place. "Consign of the times" Lincoln Road on the cross street

I’ve walked by this store now for the last five years and never went in. It’s super tiny and on the corner of Lincoln where the Van Dyke Cafe is. I was shocked at what I was missing once I went inside! Amazing clothing ,Chanel, Dolce and Gabbana, Versace, Catherine Malandrino, CL shoes, Gucci glasses , shoes belts and so much more! If you’re on Lincoln Road do yourself a favor and make a stop into this wonderful little secret.

C. Madeleine's 13702 Biscayne Blvd

This beloved treasure trove of designer vintage stretches a staggering 10,000 square feet. For the true stylista this is paradise! Prices range enormously, with everything from $10 slip dresses to museum-quality Chanel and Balenciaga pieces worth thousands on display. Many a celeb stylist has this place on speed-dial--and after one visit, it's easy to see why!

How could I not include a Manhattan mainstay in my picks? Our branch may not have the selection or scope of NYC's flagship, but it is supremely well edited, with unique pieces from Rag & Bone and Vena Cava sharing space with tried-and-true basics by Helmut Lang and Vince. Plus, it's housed in a lovely two-story art deco building just a block away from the beach.

Alchemist438 Lincoln Rd.

This relatively recent addition to my favorite South Beach street might just be my favorite boutique in the city. In addition to stocking some of my absolute favorite designers--Alexander Wang, Phillip Lim, and Rick Owens among them--the store houses amazing if-I-only-won-the-lottery pieces from Azzedine Alaia, Givenchy, and Jil Sander that are just as much fun to admire from afar. The best part? Alchemist carries Repetto ballet flats--my favorite--which can be difficult to find even in New York City! Be still, my shoe-obsessed heart.

Okay obviously I’m going to tell you the best place to shop for make-up is with me at Saks in Bal Harbour BUT if there’s no way for you to get there, here’s my other suggestions

Best M.A.C.'s to shop at

650 Collins Ave. The original MAC store on South Beach and home of one of the rare M.A.C. Pro stores up until the store moved the Pro part to Lincoln road. This store was the last one designed by Frank and Frank (the original fathers of M.A.C.) Franks office was originally going to be in this store but unfortunately he passed away before it could open. My recommendation is to ask for Bianca or Fernella :)

Macys Downtown Miami

Small counter located near Bayside Mall in the heart of Downtown Miami. Only Open till 6. My recommendation is to ask for Priscilla (She speaks Portuguese!!)

1111 Lincoln Road M.A.C. Pro

The beautiful modern new M.A.C. Pro on Lincoln Road. It’s all the way at the end across from the movies. This store has everything a regular M.A.C. has and more. Pro stores contain products geared towards professional make-up artists. The range of products goes well beyond what most make-up artist would need. They carry airbrush machines, body painting supplies and special edition M.A.C. Pro items.

My recommendation is to ask for Roccio, Brett, Gigi or Jessica.

Aventura M.A.C. store (2nd floor)

Very cute M.A.C store with a very intimate feeling. This will have everything we love about MAC stores. Face and Body foundation and Palette eye shadows!! My recommendation is to ask for Jenny L or Josie.

Brown and Company – Lincoln Road

This super chic little store carries great lines that you may not have ever heard of but are sure to love! Tinte Cosmetics, Nars, Mario Badeskiu, Phtyo Hair and so many more. There is also a full salon upstairs where they sell OPI and Essie! They also just opened another location on Biscayne Blvd.

Sephora (Hello of course!) I like the one on Collins and 7th Ave. Its open 24 hours a day 365 days a year!!!

Yes Im talking about Nail Polish....Again!!

So a friend of mine emailed me from Brazil asking me about the new Chanel nail polish colors. I went right away over to the Chanel counter to see what all the fuss was about. All I found was the current collection that has been out for a while. I asked the manager for Chanel and she showed me a sneak peak at whats coming out for Fall.

Meet Red Carter

Red Carter Swim week Fashion Show

So through my friends at Tinte Cosmetics I was asked to do the make-up for this years Red Carter swimwear show. For anyone unfamiliar with Red, he is a local celebrity here in Miami. His shows are always the ones everyone wants to be at. His style is fun funky and feminine and very MIAMI!

For this show Red enlisted the amazing Danny Santiago to style the show. Danny is best known for the styling on Devil wears Prada!! (So you know it was amazing!!)

The look for this show was very "Glam" in the words of Red Himself. He wanted a very rocker look but still elegant.

We used the make-up sets provided by Tinte.

First we prepped the eyelids with foundation and set that with a powder.
We then used a light brown from the Natural Set and blended that all over the lid , leaving the brow bone naked.

Then we used the cream liner from the smoky set and smudged it along the lash line followed by the pewter shade applied over the liner and blended up to almost look like a very large eyeliner.

We then applied mascara only to the top lashes leaving the underside of the eye totally nude.
On the cheek bones we applied Vanilla Sky Pigment ( from Tinte) as a beautiful illiminator for the skin.

We blanked out the lips with a concealer and applied Cream Soda lipgloss ( Tinte) mixed with the same Vanilla Sky to give a ultra nude glossy look to the lips.

Right before the models we out to walk to runway we applied Vitamin E oil to the highlight points on their faces to give a very wet dewy look.

After the success of the Blog Make-up parties, I wanted to take advantage of Mariah being back in Miami in July. July is a big month for Brazilian tourist so Mariah and I decided to have a big party for all the “BLOGUETTES” with Mariah in Saks Bal Harbour.

Mariah posted this event on her blog and the responses came quickly.

So cute right!!

Before the event I made the cutest goodie bags for all the girls!

The morning of the event Mariah and I pulled three different outfits from various departments in the store. They we arranged them on three mannequins and added handbags, jewelry, shoes and handbags to the looks.

The luncheon was attended by 25 beautiful women. So fashionable!

Following the luncheon the girls joined Mariah and one of the stylists from the fifth ave club, Anthony for a seasonal style presentation. Mariah and Anthony discussed various styles for the upcoming spring season in Brazil. After each style was discussed DGMU artist discussed various makeup looks that would work best with each look.

Okay I wont lie..this girl is already very beautiful. All we did was make her look even better.

To create this look

First prime the lid with a great eyeshadow primer like MAC 's paint pot painterly. Then with a blending brush blend shade #1 all over the lid. I like to use it with a good synthetic brush like the MAC 242 because it applys the color very even.

Then with a smaller brush like the MAC #219 start slowly apply shade 2 the the outside corner. You want to make a small triangle and then using a blending brush blend the two together so there is no seam.

After you've created as dark of a crease as you want, use shade 3, the light purple color and apply it to the center of the lid right above the lash line. This give a pop of light to the eye and takes away some of the heaviness of the dark colors.

The final touch was blending a little bit of shade 4 into the center of the crease. This gives more color to the crease and takes away from being a totally smokey look.

We finished this look with the Dolce and Gabbana eye liner in a deep plum . I love this liner because everyone owns a black lines and this is a subtle way to soften the look and add some fun!

Summer Make Up Look

For summer I wanted to share with everyone some of my favorite combinations of makeup looks. A lot of artists tend to always go right for shimmer and shiny textures for summer. When you live in Miami or other humid places this may not be your best option.

I like to mix different texture to get a more balanced look.

I love this first picture. Its a great mix of a Satin texture ( semi matte) and shimmer.

The shadows on the eyes are Matte. Very gentle with just a very natural color on the lid and a subtle color in the crease. I love MAC's Haux for a natural crease. Its a soft plum shade. Its a great compliment for blue eyes. If you were more olive you could use a color like MAC texture.

For the skin is where I would play with shine. I want to share with you guys a great make-up line. Tinte cosmetics is a newer line gaining popularity quickly. It has been featured on various TV shows including the Janice Dickinson Modeling agency reality show. Tinte will also be the make-up sponsor to Red Carters upcoming fashion show for Miami Swim Fashion Week.

I love the Tinte Shimmering Face pearls for cheeks. Its like a MAC mineralized skin finish in a loose powder. You can mix them with a moisturizer for an all over sheen or apply them on top of your foundation like you would a blush or bronzer. They also make great FULL COLOR lip glosses. (***listen up everyone who wants a lip gloss that stays on!***)

I love their Lip Shines also. Not only do they smell and taste amazing but they give the same color as a lipstick but with the gloss finish of a lip gloss. I love them for weddings or just to keep in my purse for everyday use. Check out the site for more info. Tinte Cosmetics

Easy Summer Makeup Look

Hi Guys! Here's a quick make-up look that is perfect for a summer night out!

The new Dolce and Gabbana Laguna Duo $36

Step 1 : Line the eye with a teal eyeliner
Step 2: Using a small brush like the MAC 219 smudge the liner along the top
Step 3: Blend a light highlighter like MAC's Shroom all the way to the brow
Step 4: Using that same #219 brush start applying the darker shade to the outside corner bringing it up to the crease but keeping the darkest part in the outside corner
Step 5: Using a blending brush ( I love the MAC 217) start applying the lighter shade and blending it in with the darker shade.

Reline the eyes, add mascara and your good to go!
